This Classic Stovetop Popcorn is very simple to make and sure is nutritious. Great for movie night at home! Not to mention that it is very cheap!
Yields4 ServingsPrep Time1 minCook Time5 minsTotal Time6 mins
Ingredients:
3tbspextra virgin olive oil
½cuppopcorn kernels
Salt, to taste
2tbspbutter, melted (Optional)
Directions:
1
In a large pot with lid, over medium heat, add the oil and 2 to 3 pieces of popcorn kernels. Cover and wait for it to pop.
2
Once all 3 popcorn kernels popped, lower the heat and remove the popped popcorn.
3
Add the rest of the popcorn kernels. Cover and give the pot a good shake. So the kernels get covered evenly with the oil. Increase the heat back to medium heat.
4
Wait for the kernels to start popping. Shake the pot every now and then.
5
When the popping starts to slow down to almost gone, turn off the heat and leave the pot covered for a minute. To give time to other kernels that didn’t pop.
6
Open the lid, slowly add the melted butter and sprinkle with salt, give a little stir.
