Yes! You can make chocolate truffles at home! All you need is good chocolate and cream. And it is way cheaper than store-bought chocolate truffles.
Truffles are bite-size chocolate made of ganache covered with more chocolate. Ganache is a mixture of chocolate and warm cream. Cooled and rolled with cocoa powder, chocolate, rainbow sprinkles or nuts.
The ideal ratio of the chocolate and cream is 2:1. It is always best to weigh the ingredients in this recipe.
I remember passing by and seeing the chocolate store at the mall and seeing all these mouthwatering chocolate truffles, and all I can I think of is getting some. And boy, they are not cheap!
Chocolate is one of my weaknesses. It’s one thing that I indulge myself every now and then. Something about its sweet taste that makes my heart (and taste buds) so happy.
Oh my goodness, my son is crazy about chocolate. He definitely got my sweet tooth! I have to hide our chocolate bags because as soon as he sees them, he will not stop until it is gone. I can’t blame him. It’s hard to stop myself either.
You can store the homemade chocolate truffles in the refrigerator for up to 2 to 3 months.
Or, if you are like me, you will not wait that long and you will just dive right into it!
Did you try to make your own chocolate truffles? I am dying to see and know what you made, kindly share in the comments section below.

Thanks for your comment, Danette! I love anything chocolate and this homemade chocolate truffles are my new favorite! Let me know how it turned out for you. 🙂
These look fantastic! Do the sprinkles really stay on so neatly? I’m always trying to make recipes look perfect like the photo I fell in love with 🙂
Thanks for your comment, Arianny! Sprinkles did stay. When you form the ganache to a ball, it is a little soft and sticky the reason why coating is important. But the truffles didn’t stay too long, all is gone by me and my son the next day. 🙂
I love making these at Christmas. I always forget how easy they are to make… Which is probably a good thing 🙂

They look so good! I will definetly be trying this one, maybe with dark chocolate, as I’ve heard it’s a little bit healthier 😉 What “coating” would you think would work out with dark chocolate?
Thanks for your comment, Sofia! Yes! For dark chocolate! For the coating, you can use the chocolate melts dark chocolate to make it super dark, white chocolate or simple chocolate and rainbow sprinkle are good too. Let me know what you decide for the coating. 🙂
