Baking is something that used to scare me. But after my dear friend Donna introduced me to baking, I now have confidence and started baking ever since.
Cookies is something I started baking. It is very easy with very simple ingredients. Plus, it is sweet ( perfect for my sweet tooth! 😁 ) and a really nice snack with a glass of milk.
With baking, you need to be precise with the measurement of the ingredients. Dry ingredients such as flour and sugar need to be sifted well. Temperature and cooking time may vary depending on the model and/or the type of your oven. But it shouldn’t be way over the recommended temperature and time. You can also invest in a nice oven thermometer to make sure you have correct temperature. Like this one: Rubbermaid Commercial FGTHO550 Stainless Steel Oven Monitoring Thermometer
Another thing that I think helps me bake perfect cookies every time is this great silicone baking mat I got from Amazon. It has a guide where i can put the cookie dough and they are baked perfect every time. If you can, I will invest on this one. The one I got is color burgundy. It is reusable, so after each use, just wash it with warm soapy water and you’re good to go for the next batch.
I remember the days when I would go and visit my sister and excitedly bake cookies with them. My niece and nephew gladly helped. They helped with mixing and putting the cookie dough onto the baking sheets. Everyone had fun and enjoyed nice warm cookies over that weekend. A great and priceless memory I will forever cherish. ❤️
I’ve made different kinds of cookies.. chocolate chip, with nuts, just plain with banana, with raisins, and etc., but my favorite of all is this classic simple chewy chocolate chip cookies.
The original recipe of this chocolate chip cookies came from a good friend of mine. I changed it a little bit by adding cinnamon and it sure added another layer of good flavor.
Here’s how to make the Best Simple Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Best Simple Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
This is the best simple cookies recipe ever! Chewy and gooey with lots of chocolate and great when served with a glass of milk. It is also great to serve or bring to parties!
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Step 1 Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with silicone baking mat.
- Step 2 Combine sifted flour, cinnamon powder, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
- Step 3 In a separate medium bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Stir in the vanilla and eggs.
- Step 4 Mix in the flour mixture until just blended. You can use a wooden spoon here as the batter becomes harder to mix. Add the chocolate chips and stir.
- Step 5 Using a medium size cookie scoop, drop 1 scoop at a time onto the cookie sheets, 2 inches apart.
- Step 6 Bake for 12 to 13 minutes in the preheated oven.
- Step 7 Let it sit on the baking sheets for a few minutes before moving to wire racks to cool completely.
Easy to make and delicious. Perfect to serve and warm you up on cold winter days 😊
