These Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins are so soft and delicious, with lots of chocolate goodness after each bite. Great to boost your energy during afternoon snack (or breakfast, if you may) and heaven to pair with a glass of milk.
Banana is one thing I never miss to add in our weekly grocery trip. It is one of our favorite fruits, an easy and healthy grab-and-go snack.
Sometimes, when I get lucky, by the end of the week, we have 2 or 3 ripe bananas left in our counter which is my que to make some good snack out of it.
Time to make some banana muffins!
CHOCOLATE CHIPS GOODNESS
This week, I decided to make our banana muffins with chocolate chips. Hmm… why not?! Chocolate is good with everything and I always have a stash of chocolate chips in our kitchen cabinets perfect for my sweet tooth.
Actually, this muffin recipe is based on my first banana muffins recipe I posted here in my blog, which is the Banana Cinnamon Pecan Muffins. You can check the recipe here.
The only difference is, of course, I omitted the Pecan and added lots of Chocolate Chips, making it the star of this yummy snack.
You will probably be going to see a lot like this in some of my recipes in the future. I use a base recipe, change it a little bit, add or replace the toppings, meats, vegetables and the like, to make one good new recipe. Especially if my family like it, I try to make different versions of it so we won’t feel like we are eating the same food every time. Win-Win for all!
FREEZER FRIENDLY
Most of my desserts or sweet recipes are freezer friendly. And this one is the very first in line. Actually, all my muffin recipes are freezer friendly.
I usually make batches of this recipe, put the cooked muffins into a freezer friendly container/Ziploc and store in the freezer. You can also freeze the uncooked muffin dough/batter if you run out of time to cook all of it.
It is good to store the chocolate chips banana muffins in a freezer for up to 3 months.
GREAT ON-THE-GO BREAKFAST OR SNACK
Chocolate chips banana muffins are great on-the-go breakfast or snack!
To thaw and enjoy the frozen or cold muffins, you can do the following:
- You can just leave it outside the room temperature for a few minutes until fully thawed.
- Or, you can warm it in the oven, set to warm or 250 to 300 degrees F, for 5 minutes or so, if you want it warm.
- Or, you can also put it in a microwave just for a few seconds, 15 to 30 seconds should be good enough per muffin. You can add a few more seconds when needed.
