Talking about easy recipes.. seeing fresh mushrooms while grocery shopping this week, the first dish that came to my mind is Chicken and Mushroom!

I love mushroom! And it’s one of those vegetables my husband will eat aside from tomatoes. Oh wait, tomato is a fruit!, scientifically speaking. And I know.. I know.. mushroom is neither a vegetable nor a fruit! Hehe but at least it’s something other than meat! To those who know my husband well, he is not a big fan of  vegetables. 😀

My son? Well, he likes the sauce in this dish. The reason why I add an extra water on this dish for more sauce.

Mushrooms are special kind of fungus which are good addition to your healthy diet and not to mention super delicious. But make sure that you prepare edible mushrooms. Be aware that not all mushrooms are safe to eat, some are poisonous. The kinds of edible mushrooms are the Japanese shiitake and enoki to Italian porcini to the common white button mushroom and the ever-popular portabella, also known as crimini.

The one that I used in this recipe are the white button mushrooms. Yum!

Here’s how to make Simple Sauteed Chicken and Mushroom.

Talking about simple and easy.. this is a must in your simple dinner menu. Just chicken and mushroom and you’re good to go.

By:

Ingredients
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 1 1/2 lbs. chicken, cut into bite size pieces
  • 8 oz sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/4 cup water (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
  • Step 1 In a large pan, heat the oil in medium heat.
  • Step 2 When the oil is warm enough add the garlic and saute for a few seconds or a minute. Add the onion and saute for a few more minutes until it becomes close to translucent. Be careful not to burn the garlic and onion.
  • Step 3 Add the chicken with a little bit of salt and pepper to taste. Adding salt and pepper with the chicken will add more flavors to the chicken while it’s cooking.
  • Step 4 Cook the chicken until golden brown.
  • Step 5 Add the mushroom, worcestershire sauce and 1/4 cup of water. Let it cook for 5 more minutes or until the mushroom is cooked enough. I add water because my son wants some sauce in his food but if you’re not a sauce person, you can skip adding water.
  • Step 6 Taste the dish and add more salt and pepper if need.
  • Step 7 Serve on top of warm cooked rice! Yum!
