What not to like about avocados? Avocado smoothie has been our family’s favorite. Everyone in the family enjoys this refreshing drink.

Well, my eldest son is starting to like it. A good sign, right?!

AVOCADO TREE IN OUR BACKYARD

I grew up drinking avocado smoothies. An avocado shake (that’s what we call it back home). 

In fact, we had an avocado tree in our backyard when I was little. It was very convenient picking up an avocado fruit just steps away from our house.

And living in a tropical country, like the Philippines, avocado is everywhere especially when it is in season.

HEALTH BENEFITS

The creamy avocado smoothie recipe is very quick and easy to make, great for breakfast, snack or a refreshing drink you can put together in 5 minutes or less packed with lots of healthy benefits.

Avocado

Avocado is a great source of vitamin C, E, K, potassium, folate, dietary fiber, and good fats. 

Milk is a good source of protein, make you feel full longer and provides calcium to protect your bones.

HOW TO MAKE AVOCADO SMOOTHIE

Avocado, sweetened condensed milk, a few pieces of ice cubes and a little bit of water, and we are off to one good refreshing drink!

Ingredients:

 1 medium ripe Hass avocado, pitted
 1 cup milk
 ¾ cup condensed milk
 1 cup crushed ice
 Chia seeds, for garnishing

Directions:

Combine the avocado, milk, condensed milk & crushed ice in a blender, blend until creamy and smooth.

If too thick, you can add more milk to thin it out. If too thin, you can add more avocado.
